34 UNICEF GALA: The PERFECT SEQUEL BY BILLY FONG. PHOTOGRAPHY COOPER NEILL/GETTY IMAGES. R arely is the sequel anywhere near as good as the original — unless you're referring to the second annual UNICEF Gala Dallas, which raised more than $1.15 million to improve the lives of the world's most in-need children. Moll Anderson co-chaired the event at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, alongside her dear friend Jan Miller Rich. The invitation called for a dress code of black, white, or a combo of the two — an equation that resulted in some very chic people watching. The evening honored Grammy Award–winning singer/songwriter Brad Paisley and his wife, actor and best-selling author Kimberly Williams-Paisley, with the Global Philanthropist Award for their tireless work with children; Dallas' own Jill and Jim Cochran received the UNICEF Children First Award. The stage show was a high point of the night, with gospel artist BeBe Winans warming up the crowd before emcee Brooke Burke took over. After dinner, Paisley grabbed the mic for an acoustic set, then was joined by L.A. Dodgers pitcher and Dallas native Clayton Kershaw for a duet of "She's Everything." After the formal fun, we hit the after-party hosted by the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, with my girl DJ Lucy Wrubel getting the room pumped and dancing. As for our fashion awards for the gala? A few boys turned it out in jackets that were both black and white (shout-out to Brian Bolke), but the winner was definitely Howard Rachofsky in his butterfly-print Alexander McQueen dinner jacket. Of the girls, there were too many to count, but I'll name a few: Zoe Bonnette, Brooke Hortenstine, Kimberly Schlegel Whitman, Jessica Nowitzki, Suzanne Droese, and Jennifer Karol, who was perfect in Dior.
