The evening of artistry, noshes and music by Aprilemade made quite an impression, but founder Lana Adams and co-founder Zack McDowell were most thrilled by its lasting impact: More than $25,000 was raised to support clean and sustainable water projects in Africa. At the VIP reception, A-listers had the first opportunity to bid on works curated by Aja Martin of The Nasher Sculpture Center ��� including covetable pieces from Dallas locals Christopher Martin, Joshua King, Maxine Helfman, Geof Kern, and Thom Jackson ��� and purchase Helen Ficalora���s African charm necklace (100 percent of proceeds went to Water-Thirst) before the rush. As the evening progressed, an inspiring video featuring Adams and McDowell, and Damien Hirst���s Saint Sebastian, Exquisite Pain (from Kenny Goss��� and George Michaels��� private collection) kept guests��� rapt attention.
