letter publisher 18 MISAEL RODRIGUEZ I might be fairly new at the PaperCity offices, but from what I've heard, December launches a month of merry shenanigans around here. You see, a few years ago a little Elf on the Shelf named Stanley Chestnut made his magazine debut — and ever since, he's been delivering our office little surprises. Last year, he even crashed our annual holiday party with Stanley Korshak (save the date for this year's event: Wednesday, December 4), and wound up drinking a bit too much champagne — an offense we can't fault him for. While none of us are sure when Stanley will make his 2019 appearance, we're sure it's going to be memorable. Follow us on Instagram @papercitydallas for a recap of what Stanley gets himself into. Speaking of a memorable month, December is always high on our list — if not for the holiday hustle and bustle and the extra time we spend with our families, then for all the festivities that will take our PaperCity team out on the town. We kick things off with the PaperCity-sponsored Tutu Chic Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Winspear Opera House Tuesday, December 3. We love nothing more than seeing TBT's beautiful dancers twirling on stage in fashion from Stanley Korshak. Wednesday, December 4, our team heads to Fort Worth, where we're partnering with our friends at The Shops at Clearfork for a holiday gifting luncheon at B&B Butchers and Restaurant. Later that night, we're back in Dallas for the aforementioned bash with Stanley Korshak — an evening we look forward to each year. The holiday parties keep coming: Thursday, December 5, we're headed to Highland Park Village to celebrate the debut of the center's legendary holiday lights. The Shopping Stroll will be the perfect event for families, with in-store parties, a photo booth, spirited holiday performances, and photos with Santa. The Village Theatre will even screen a late-night showing of Elf. We'll see you there, from 4 to 8 pm, hot cocoa in hand. Post-shopping at HP Village, we'll make our way to de Boulle for a bit of sparkle. From 6 to 9 pm, the Boulle family hosts its annual Holiday Celebration — and we promise there will be no shortage of diamonds for her and Pateks for him. Finally, the fall social season winds down with The Crystal Charity Ball, which PaperCity has sponsored for more than a decade. For us, The Crystal Charity Ball marks a culmination of all that makes Dallas great: stylish philanthropists and a remarkable fundraiser that gives millions each year to local children's charities. From our PaperCity family to yours, may this holiday season be happy, healthy, and filled with a bit of Elf mischief. Merry, merry! Brooke Dowdy Dallas Publisher brooke@papercitymag.com
