42 BROKERS AND BIRKINS BY LISA COLLINS SHADDOCK. PHOTOGRAPHY KAYLA ENRIGHT. T his was not your typical office party — but then again, Ulterre is not your typical real es- tate firm. The licensed Christie's International Real Estate affiliate covering North Texas celebrated its Dallas office opening with a stylish shindig that drew guests from Fort Worth, Houston, Palm Beach, Chicago, L.A., and beyond. The most fashionable attendees, however, flew in from New York City for the fête, with an entourage of security and attendants. All 20 looked divine together, perched beautifully on their pedestals, turned out in an array of vibrant colors and classic neutrals. This group kept mostly to themselves — behind a wall of glass. Hermès Birkin bags can be a bit antisocial that way. Not to single out the Birkins (Constance and Kelly were just as cliquey), but we did hear that a few did not to go back to New York, and went home with new friends at evening's end. Christie's also flew in Caitlin Donovan, vice president and head of sales for the auction house's luxury handbags and accessories division, who joined Christie's Dallas-based deputy chairman Capera Ryan, Christie's Natalie Hamrick, Rick Moeser, and Kaitlin Mannix. When renovating the charming Fairmount Street space that became Ulterre's Dallas headquarters, CEO Concho Minick, Rick Wegman, and director of operations Kolby Simonson-Stewart envisioned offices ideal for both business and entertaining, including a sizable, twinkle-lit back lawn. The residential air allowed guests to feel right at home as they enjoyed a spread by Ford's Kitchen and sipped cocktails with Frankly Organic Vodka. The Christie's affiliation delivered an impact at every turn, with the wall of Hermès handbags, a fine art auction broadcast on screens, and the caliber of real estate firepower in the room: $500 billion in total transactions over the last five years.
