To celebrate the arrival of the furniture and accessories purveyor, more than 200 guests clinked cocktails, sampled bites from Tony's Catering and enjoyed the stylings of The Houston Jazz Band. Arhaus' first Texas location (one of 47 stores across the country) showcases handcrafted furniture and accessories, including pieces exclusive to Houston, all arranged by concept and by room. Arhaus designers travel the globe in search of artisans to collaborate and craft the furnishings, always with sustainability in mind: Green efforts include recycled copper into tabletops, harvest tree roots transformed into chairs, forgotten antiques reworked into new pieces. Arhaus also flexes its green muscles — not only in its wares but in the stores themselves, which are designed with sustainably harvested, ethically recycled and reclaimed materials, including marble and oak flooring, wood, glass, copper, bamboo and teak. For an added incentive for patronage: Ten percent of every purchase through April 30 benefits The Children's Fund.
