18 W ith two opening nights and a roster of 27 designers and architects from around the country, the inaugural Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas launches Wednesday and Thursday September 23 and 24. It's open to the public through October 25. The show house is co-chaired by Christopher Peacock and Jan Showers, with vice-chairs Jean Liu and Chad Dorsey, along with Veranda editor in chief Steele Marcoux as honorary chair. The legendary Kips Bay Decorator Show House, founded in 1973 as a fundraiser for Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York, draws dozens of celebrated designers to transform a townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side each year. It's been so successful that three years ago, Kips Bay added an annual Palm Beach show house. And now Dallas. Veranda magazine takes the lead as national media sponsor, with PaperCity and D Home serving as local media sponsors. The show house is at 5828 Woodland Drive in Old Preston Hollow, Dallas. Opening-night preview for Benefactors Wednesday, September 23, 6 to 9 pm, $1,000 to $10,000; tickets for opening-night preview cocktail party Thursday, September 24, 6 to 9 pm, $250 and $500.
