letter publisher JENNY ANTILL CLIFTON 14 A s I write this letter, I can't help but reflect on all that we have endured this year. It seems like an eternity ago since we were celebrating the New Year and all that we hoped it would bring. While 2020 has been different than anyone could have imagined, it has also brought many unexpected joys. We've learned to be thankful for what we do have, the opportunity to spend more time with loved ones, and how life can be cherished if we just slow down. Family and friends have been a continual support during this time, as we have had to adjust our daily lives and find new ways to interact with each other. Zoom and social distancing have become verbs in our vocabulary, and wearing a mask is a wardrobe staple. But we are resilient, and this time, too, shall pass. September is one of my favorite issues of the year, with page after page of gorgeous fall fashion and stunning homes. With everyone nesting at home these days, design has become more meaningful than ever. One trip I plan to take this fall is to Dallas to see the inaugural Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas (opening nights September 23 and 24, and through October 25); see page 18 for details. Kips Bay Decorator Show House began in New York City in 1973 and raises funds for after-school and enrichment programs for NYC children. Each room is unique, meticulously executed by top interior designers. Having lived in New York City after college and working in the design industry, I was excited to visit the Show House each year, to see what the designers had created. We hope this issue is a reprieve from the trying times we are living in, and that it will brighten your day. Everyone stay safe, healthy, and happy this fall.
