Alexander McQueen Tall Story new louis L ouis Vuitton has recently completed a dramatic renovation of its NorthPark Center store, adding significant square footage with a central stone gallery flanked by hardwood floors and illuminated ceilings that mimic skylights, as well as a private VIP area. Design aficionados will appreciate the inclusion of work from LV's Objets Nomads collection: Design studio Raw Edges' Concertina Shades now hangs above the watches and jewelry collection, while five suspended Mandalas by Zanellato/Bortotto are in women's ready-to-wear. Also featured are design pieces by Carlos Scarpa, SuperEgo, Federico Munari, and Carolo Mollino. Artwork includes James Turrell's photograph of his installation Akhob, montages by Todd Eberle, and a sculpture by Anish Kapoor. In an expression of adaptation, Gucci presented its new collection, Ouverture of Something That Never Ended, via a seven-part mini-series that premiered at GucciFest, the house's digital fashion and film festival that took place November 16 through 22. Shot in Rome by creative director Alessandro Michele and co-directed by legendary filmmaker Gus van Sant, the series stars actress, artist, and performer Silvia Calderoni as she navigates the city, meeting friends of the house. With each episode comes another part of the collection, which was gradually unveiled over the course of seven days.
