L ouis Vuitton's latest capsule collection, launched in January, is the house's second collaboration with Swiss conceptual artist Urs Fischer, on the heels of their acclaimed ArtyCapucines venture in 2019. Fischer is best known for large-scale sculptural works; much of his art deals with the perception of change, as seen in his 2004-2005 piece Bread House, which he constructed from loaves of bread, crumbs, and wood that decayed and transformed as the exhibition continued. With Vuitton, Fischer reimagined the LV Monogram via hand-drawn versions that he calls "memory sketches," allowing the logo to change in size, perspective, color, and application with each piece in the collection. Available in two colorways (black and red, black and white), the deconstructed LV Monogram is the focal point of the collection, which includes seven special-edition bags, sneakers, scarves, a T-shirt, zipped jackets, trousers, dresses, a top, and small accessories. Similar to what we've seen with the latest menswear collection, a whimsical family of characters was created to coincide with the release and in-store presence.
