For the majority of 2021, Dallas painter and sculptor Kana Harada is the subject of an in-depth, one-person exhibition at the museum (through September 5). The Tokyo-born innovator, in the stable of Talley Dunn Gallery, forges an optimistic message in her practice, evoking fantastical wonderlands that allude to the architecture of nature, with injections of color and an intimate spirituality. Harada's media are both traditional watercolor and unexpected — sheets of foam, which she deftly cuts to transform into enchanting intricate environments that underscore her wish for a new era of planetary p e a c e . And, tune into our April issue for some intriguing news from Erin Cluley Gallery that promises to amplify the energy of the scene. Catherine D.
