W elcome to the May issue! This month, we celebrate new beginnings. Spring has sprung, school is winding down, and vacation mode is starting to set in. By the time you pick up this issue, any adult who wants a vaccine will be eligible to receive one, making it much safer for all the in-person to-dos we've missed this past year. I received my second shot last month, and as I look at my calendar over the next few weeks, I'm excited and optimistic about the events ahead: happy hours with friends, lunches with clients, store openings, nonprofit soirées, and fun dinners indoors at several new restaurants that I can't wait to try (March, the fabulous new concept from Goodnight Hospitality, tops my list). Our city is coming back to life, albeit cautiously, and I couldn't be more ready. This issue highlights fashion and design, with design being top of mind throughout the month of May. PaperCity's annual Texas Design Week Houston runs May 17 through 21. Designers from across the country will head to Houston for a five-day design symposium of salon talks, panel discussions, book signings and cocktails, as well as the PaperCity Design Awards presentation. For more information regarding the week's schedule or to purchase tickets, go to www.texasdesignweek.com. We hope you enjoy the issue!
