More than $750,000 was raised for Planned Parenthood, thanks to co-chairs Debbie Andres and Nancy Carlson. Community leaders Ken Menges, Lisa Kraus, Leslie MacLean, Jolie Newman, Michele Valdez, Mimi Swartz, and Jacquielynn Floyd were honored for their tireless dedication to the cause. The PaperCity-sponsored Appetite for Advocacy Luncheon generated more than $320,000 for the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. Co-chairs Ronnie Berg and Carla Cline applauded while honorees Jim Pasant and Reade Quinton received the Ruth Sharp Altshuler Award for their remarkable leadership. Blue bracelets at each place setting promoted Child Abuse Awareness Month, and with Judd's request, "Don't just tell one person, tell five," lives will be changed for the better. Suzanne McGee at Planned Parenthood Shining Examples This year's TACA Silver Cup Awards luncheon was one for the record books. Co-chairs Jan Showers and Sharon Young helped raise more than $405,000 and drew a crowd of nearly 1,000 to the 35th annual event at the Hilton Anatole. Honorees Peggy Sewell and Roger Nanney were recognized for their fund-raising efforts for the Dallas Museum of Art, Meadows School of the Arts, Klyde Warren Park, AT&T Performing Arts Center and United Way of America. Violinist and Neiman Marcus Performing Arts Scholar Eleanor Dunbar left the audience speechless with her performance of Eugene Ysaye's Sonata-Ballade No. 3. Known for such fare as The Starter Wife, Maneater and the movie Stepmom starring Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts, the best-selling author held court at Brook Hollow Golf Club during an event supporting Community Partners of Dallas' mission to ensure safety and inspire hope for abused and neglected children. Luncheon chair Lisa Singleton and honorary chair Allie Beth Allman helped raise nearly $270,000, while Mersina Stubbs was honored with the Partners for Children Award.
