LOOK FIRST AT A GRAND AMERICAN RESIDENCE IN THE MAKING DESIGNED BY KEN FULK By Billy Fong. Photography Jonathan Zizzo. T his cocktail event was a highlight of the week of fabulous soirées in conjunction w i t h Te x a s Design Week Dallas and Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas. As a preview of the recently redesigned home of Brad and Aurelia Heppner, the home's designer Ken Fulk enlisted Brian Bolke and his beloved store, The Conservatory, and in-demand photographer Douglas Friedman as co-hosts. As usual, Friedman was circled by swooning women and men, while ever- dapper Bolke said, "I'm thrilled to share with the design community this rare opportunity to get a sneak peek of an incredible property 'in process' from one of the world's most talented design minds. When finished, this home will be a reference point for craftsmanship, exuberance, and — most of all — a high dose of wit." The casting of the shirtless cocktail servers in construction hats was all Missy RSVP (Missy Peck's event company). I tracked down the always divine Miss Peck — she was hard to miss in the stunning Tibi dress she'd recently purchased at The Conservatory — and asked how she'd concocted such a fabulous affair. "Serving Texas- beloved Fritos with beluga caviar was actually Douglas Friedman's idea." The shirtless construction servers just came naturally." Of course, they did, Miss Peck. The house, Sunfields Manor, is the new Volk Estates residence of Aurelia and Brad Heppner. Brad was in NYC but attended virtually, as his assistant walked around with a laptop so Brad could Zoom-greet the guests, while Aurelia greeted in person.
