My goodness, I'm not in shape for the marathon of parties that are occurring. Just in the past few weeks, I've been to more than I attended during the entirety of 2020. Long-lost friends are once again filling my life. Unfortunately, the ever-flowing coupes of Veuve Clicquot are also part of the equation. My hope is that you attended the recent Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas. The rooms were filled with color, art and sumptuous fabrics, designed by 26 of the who's who of the design world. In case you missed it, have a taste by turning to pages 72 through 94. It was another smashing success, and we're thrilled to report that Kips Bay has begun planning for 2022. Fashion this month is a special portfolio from Dior Homme. You'll find pages of menswear meant for those who are rather spectacular nonconformists. I've already started my list for Santa (since I've been oh-so good this year) and have at the top one of the French house's coveted crossbody saddle bags. It's the perfect size for my iPhone and one of my trusty Smythson pads to scribble notes on upcoming parties, including a weekend-long soirée at the Breakers at the end of November. "And here we are in heaven," to end with Etta James. I pen this with my windows open for one of the first times this fall. A slight breeze comes through and gently blows the scent of a Niven Morgan London English Rose candle throughout my room. It's moments like this that I cherish. A slight respite to savor and appreciate our world which has reopened. Your ever devoted confidante, Billy Fong Editor in Chief billy@papercitymag.com 24
