S c h u m a c h e r 's 2 0 2 1 Hobe Erwin Collection reintroduces the work of one of Hollywood's most legendary set designers during the '30s and '40s, while preserving historically accurate wallpaper designs from the era. Erwin had been a prominent New York decorator whose friendship with director George Cukor propelled his career in Hollywood, where he designed the sets for Gone with the Wind, Dinner at Eight, and Little Women. His sets were lavish and meticulously researched — for Gone with the Wind, he traveled the South and corresponded with Margaret Mitchell, author of the original novel. Schumacher collaborated with Erwin in 1942 on a line of Revival Wallpapers based on his research for the decor of fine 18th- and 19th-century American houses. The new collection features five original designs including Astral, Front Waltz, Hive Bloom, Secret Garden. Hydrangea Drape comes in new colorways. RS C antoni, which opened in Dallas in 1984, has long carried the Natuzzi Italia line of furniture, handmade in Italy. Now, Cantoni has rolled out the first freestanding Natuzzi Italia mono-brand store in Texas, Natuzzi Italia Dallas in Uptown, which opened at the end of October. Cantoni owns the Natuzzi Italia Texas franchise and hopes to open additional stores in Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth in 2022, says Michael Wilkov, Cantoni founder and CEO. Based in southern Italy, Natuzzi was founded in 1959 by Pasquale Natuzzi, who remains its chairman and guiding force. The new 6,000-square-foot Dallas retail store has 14 styled environments and fabric and leather seating collections.
