DESIGNER ALESSANDRA BRANCA CELEBRATES HER CASA BRANCA COLLECTION WITH AN INTIME DINNER AT PARK HOUSE By Lisa Collins Shaddock. Photography Jay Simon. LIFE SPICE THE OF B orn and raised in R o m e , d e s i g n e r Alessandra Branca b e l i e v e s l i v i n g well comes from the ever-elusive balance of comfort, elegance, and whimsy. Toward that goal is her Casa Branca collection of porcelains and embroidered linens for the table and bed as well as playful prints, refined wovens, and textural wallpapers. The exotic and sultry Moroccan Balcony at Park House overlooking Highland Park Village served as an appropriate venue to toast such a collection, bringing together evocative ambiance and design-industry heavy-hitters for an intime dinner, both locals and those in town for Texas Design Week Dallas and Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas. Among the out-of- towners were de Gournay director Hannah Cecil Gurney (daughter of founder Claud Cecil Gurney), in from London; L.A. designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard; in from NYC, designer Corey Damen Jenkins, Ellen Niven, and Kips Bay's Nazira Handal; and, of course, Ms. Branca and her son Andrew Uihlein and Georgia McElveen in from home- base Chicago. Seen: Cathy Kincaid, Lisa Fine, Brian Bolke, Louise Marsh, Kelli Ford, Lauren Hudson, Denise McGaha, and Michelle Nussbaumer.
