HOUSTON | SEPTEMBER 2022 CONTENTS Diane Dorrans Saeks, author of Ann Getty Interior Style (Rizzoli), documents a life well lived and details The Ann and Gordon Getty Collection auction from Christie's, page 70. In Ann and Gordon Getty's living room in San Francisco, the walls are covered with eight English chinoiserie panels, circa 1740, embellished with a pair of George II tree-form wall sconces, circa 1760, with Chinese porcelain figures. The pair of George I gilded armchairs covered in antique blue damask was originally from Spye Park House, a historic Palladian mansion near Bath. The corner banquets are covered in custom-woven tiger-stripe silk velvet by Bevilacqua, Venice. The Bishop-sleeve curtains are crafted in three shades of Indian silk. LISA ROMEREIN p.70 12
