HUNT SLONEM A t PaperCity, September and October are our two most important months with regards to workload, revenue, and fun factor. September is — once you get past this page you'll realize — Texas Design Week Dallas (September 19 - 23). With 43 designers flying in from around the U.S. (and two from Paris), it's the most star-studded TXDW yet. Each year in Dallas, we see more and more ticket buyers from Houston, NYC, L.A., San Francisco, and a clutch of states in the South. With Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas opening the same week (Thursday, September 22), there is no other place a designer, architect, or design lover should be. See pages 64 through 65 for the speaker lineup, and go to texasdesignweek. com for the full schedule and to purchase tickets. A few of the names you'll recognize: Jean-Louis Deniot, Ken Fulk, Stephen Sills, David Netto, Alex Papachristidis, Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson of Drake/Anderson, Suzanne Tucker, Hutton Wilkinson, Veranda's Steele Marcoux, Suzanne Kasler, and so many more. As we're kissing designers goodbye, we're heading to Round Top for the thrice-annual Round Top Antiques and Design Fair, October 13 through 30 — so much happening in this tiny little town. Watch for the October issue of PaperCity with a Round Top special section, and pick up a copy of Round Top Antiques & Design Show Guide, which falls under the PaperCity umbrella, to discover new restaurants, shops, and all the design events. We'll be bringing in a mini-Texas Design Week to The Halles, our venue in Round Top, so watch this space to see the lineup. Reading through the La L.A. Louvre coverage by Billy Fong makes me sick that I missed such an important art extravaganza hosted by Becca Cason Thrash. Billy took the reins and covered it brilliantly (pages 24 – 28). And, the New Orleans Wanderings pages made me realize that it's been 10 years since I've seen that fabled town. I'm due back, and after perusing the fashion pages art directed by our creative director Michelle Aviña and photographed at Maison de la Luz, I know where I'll be booking a courtyard suite.
