New owner Lori Allen is committed to keeping a few fan favorites on the menu and to building on Casa Blanke's clean-nutrition mission with the addition of gluten-free baked goods and a legit espresso bar with all the milk alternatives. Meet the new Mill Street Café. The fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies, avocado toasts, and seasonal salads carry over from Kasey Massey's Casa Blanke menu, with new additions such as plain and chocolate croissants, vegan and gluten-free oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and a gluten-free fudge brownie, ham-and-Swiss puff pastry, sandwiches, salads, and a charcuterie. Since Kasey plans to spend a bit more time in Houston as she and her husband, Mayor Mark Massey, await the birth of their first child, she has turned the keys and the reins over to Allen. Allen spent the last decade setting up her mobile coffee and cookie bar Lolli's Table at shows and markets all over Texas before opening her first café, KaffeeHaus, in her hometown of Fredericksburg.
