The event, held inside the historic Round Top Dance Hall, is accompanied by a live music performance by The Brown Sugar Band at 7 pm. VIP tickets include access to the adjacent speakeasy, The Mark, priority seating, and drink specials. Rumors flew this fall about his acquisition of a prime piece of Washington County ranch property near Round Top, our favorite antiques-and-design destination. On October 20, 2023, Drake closed for $15 million on The Inn at Dos Brisas in Chappell Hill, a celebrated retreat previously owned by Jennifer and Doug Bosch. PaperCity society editor Shelby Hodge wrote about the Relais & Châteaux property, which at its height was the only Forbes five-star restaurant in all of Texas. Anspon NEW CRIB IN THE HILL COUNTRY W hat started out as a private family retreat has transformed into one of the Round Top region's most expansive country resort experiences. In little more than a year, Milk & Honey Ranch has grown from a single four- bedroom guest house to 12 luxury Airbnbs with countless amenities and a new cafe on the way. Owners Daniela and Brent Phillips initially purchased the property in the tiny hamlet of Burton (about 10 minutes from Round Top) as a weekend getaway. Soon after, the family upended their suburban lives by moving to the ranch permanently and learning to farm. Over the following year, the Phillipses expanded the lodging options on the property to include a cabin, cottage, several casitas, glamping domes, and even a tree house. There's also a barn for hosting events; dirt-bike track; a pond big enough for tubing behind a jet ski; private beach; multiple hot tubs; pool with cabanas; multi-sport court for tennis, pickleball, and basketball; and a well- equipped gym along with hammocks and firepits. A fully stocked candy room offers guests a little daily indulgence. Livestock and food gardens were added to the 54-acre property along the way, providing fodder for the ranch's food menu. "Several of us contribute towards the cooking, each with our own flavors and experience, ranging from South Africa and El Salvador," says Milk & Honey Ranch coordinator Monica Carvajal. "Once the café is in place, we will expand the menu and hope to book award-winning chefs to help us with special events." Tentatively called the Honey Pot, the café will seat around 50 and is expected to be open in time for the spring show in March, and will be open to guests of the ranch and to the public by reservation.
