B lue Hills launches its massive expansion with an opening party, Blue Hills Bash, on Saturday, October 5, 5 to 8 pm, in the venue's newly constructed party barn. The public is invited for live music, and shopping, with ticketed VIP experiences available. Here's the cause for celebration: Blue Hills has added seven permanent retail barns on a 17.8-acre tract adjacent to its original property, creating an additional 55,000 square feet of vendor space. This brings the venue's total shopping area to more than 150,000 square feet. Eighty-five-plus dealers offer everything from fine imported antiques and home decor to vintage furniture and home accessories, outdoor furniture, fashion, and jewelry. Several current Blue Hills vendors are moving into the new barns this fall, alongside a fresh batch of dealers including French Art Deco, Maison Miral, Benton, Hayden & Associates, Très Bien Antiques, Two Maisons, Sacred Heart Antiques, and Bagatelle from Sylvia Serres Fine Art. bluehillsatroundtop.com. Candice Cowin OUT OF THE BLUE ( HILLS ) DANNY'S DAWNS IN BRENHAM PUTTING ON THE DOG T he husband-and-wife team behind beloved local food truck Country Sunshine has opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant on the square in downtown Brenham. Named Danny's after co-owner Danny Holle, the new spot serves casual lunch and an elevated dinner menu created by chef and co-owner Cullen Holle. The Holles have redesigned the 1,752-square-foot restaurant space, which has been home to several eateries over the years. "Lunch is a casual setting that includes our famous CS burger, along with new sandwiches and healthy salads," Danny says. "Dinner is more elevated with a small menu that includes a handful of seasonally rotating small plates from steak tartare to gnocchi to oysters on the half shell. Expect to find dishes that you can't find anywhere else in Brenham." Danny's also has a seasonal cocktail menu and serves a selection of natural wines and Texas beers. (Fans of Country Sunshine, fret not. The couple's original food truck will continue dishing up menu favorites at The Halles during the Antiques & Design Show.) Danny's, 112 S.
