By Rebecca Sherman A venue Road, the To r o n t o d e s i g n house known for its exceptional roster of artisan collaborators, has opened its long- awaited permanent location in Dallas. The 12,000-square- foot showroom in the Dallas Design District replaces a temporary studio opened in 2023 while the new space was under renovation. It's the fifth location for Avenue Road in North America. Founded in 2007 by Munich native Stephan Weishaupt of Toronto's Weishaupt Design Group, Avenue Road offers a collection of furniture, lighting, textiles, bespoke kitchens, and architectural elements by some of the world's most acclaimed designers. Over the years, Weishaupt has cultivated a network of artisans who craft sustainable, handmade pieces defined by clean lines and sculptural simplicity. The stunning Dallas showroom showcases Etel Carmona's Brazilian wood furniture, elegant designs by Frenchman Christophe Delcourt, furniture and rugs by Germany-based Man of Parts, oak furnishings from Van Rossum, and outdoor collections from Belgian design house Tribù. New to the showroom is Milan-based 6:AM, an emerging brand that offers handmade glass lighting. The international lineup also includes works by Eileen Gray, Alexander McQueen, Josef Hoffmann, Marcel Breuer, Nymphenburg Studio, Oscar Niemeyer, Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, Studio Piet Boon, Ted Muehling, Ken Fulk, and Vivienne Westwood, among others.
