"She came from the most glamorous of eras and has outlasted all her contemporaries. To this day she still wears outfits made fifty years ago, and they still fit her immaculately. Her taste is simply impeccable." — Elton John You can almost hear Wyatt's soft Texas drawl as you flip through the pages. Carman also reached out to luminaries for stories about Wyatt; they all responded instantly with words of praise. But no one is as loyal to La Lynn as her family, including sons Oscar (Trey), Bradford (Brad), and Steve, who commissioned this book in her honor, as well as son Douglas. Despite Wyatt's international fame, including friendships with Princess Grace and Truman Capote, Trey says that family is tremendously important to her — "To me, and to my brothers, she is and was just 'mom.'" Steve recalls, "My mother would challenge me to an annual 50-yard dash at Easter, where she would beat me every time until I was 13. She taught me how to dance and once came to a college fraternity party of mine in full costume." Brad shares childhood memories of being in a deer blind with his mother, and how she has always embraced the people of South Texas. "At the dedication of the Lynn Wyatt Square for the Performing Arts in Houston's theater district, there were county judges, county commissioners, county sheriffs, rural ambulance medics, deputy sheriffs, and city marshes, all of whom traveled from South Texas to be at the opening." Wyatt's taste, style, and depth of character truly transcend time. Lynn Wyatt, Paris, 1978 COLLECTION OF LYNN WYATT 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 8. 6. 7. 1. Lynn Wyatt with Hubert de Givenchy, 1981. 2.
