PARTIES IN THE FIELDS B ritish lighting brand Pooky brought its signature glow to Round Top, transforming Red Antler Bungalows' James Cabana and Pool House into a glowing wonderland of lamps, lanterns, and luminous charm. In from London were Pooky's Jodie Sanders and Lucy Brunsden, and Regan Iglesia in from NYC. Red Antler proprietors John Cone and Greg Fourticq blended design, food, and music under a festive poolside tent while Sonoma County chef Lawrence Fogarty served a seasonal menu with late-summer tomato tarts, whipped white-bean hummus with pickled veggies, signature chicken and waffles with hot honey, yellowtail tartare cones, panko fried chicken with hot honey truffle ranch dip, and salted caramel chocolate chip cookies. As the sun set, the mood shifted into celebration mode, with a DJ spinning tunes and Pooky's whimsical lampshades and lights casting a warm glow across Red Antler. Red Antler Hotel was also a hub for design and architecture lovers when Cone and Fourticq hosted cocktails and book signings for L.A.-based designer Peter Dunham, Nashville/NYC designer Ray Booth and Houston architect Bill Curtis of Curtis & Windham Architects. Guests gathered in the gracious James Cabana and Pool House designed by Meredith Ellis, who was in town with husband, Hunter Ellis; they're the co-owners of James showroom in Houston, Dallas, and NYC. Chef Fogarty served bites while the crowd waited to hobnob with their design heroes: Dunham signed his new book The World of Peter Dunham: Global Style from Paris to Hollywood; Booth, principal partner of McAlpine, signed Ray Booth: The Expressive Home: Architecture and Interiors; and Curtis signed Building on Tradition: The Work of Curtis & Windham Architects.
