A s the night unfolded, guests politely elbowed one another at the silent auction to slip in final bids for a limited-edition print from Houston artist Francesca Fuchs, created for CAMH Party, and works by Will Boone, Tomashi Jackson, Randy Twaddle, Nari Ward, and Carrie Mae Weems. Food imitates art, as they say, and City Kitchen rose to the occasion with a decadent dinner before charity auctioneer Ruth Mason Mauldin took the stage for the grand art throwdown. She hammered seven live-auction pieces — works created specifically for CAMH by Mel Chin and Mario Ayala, and works by Joseph Havel, Page Kempner, Paul Kremer, Jason Moran, and Reynier Leyva Novo. Kempner's cast-bronze leaf sculpture sold for an impressive $26,000. Late night, DJ MAV, sponsored by Gulf Coast Entertainment, kept the vibe going. PC Seen: CAMH co-directors Ryan N.
