A d e d i c a t e d L i g n e Roset showroom has opened at Shops at Arrive River Oaks near Tootsies. In October, fifth-generation Roset family scion Antoine Roset touches down for the opening celebration. For Roset, the fine art of heritage craft began in 1860 when his great- great-grandfather made canes for parasols. When those went out of fashion, he cleverly pivoted to chair legs and frames, then the complete manufacturing of chairs. In 1973, Ligne Roset made a splash as an unconventional, subversive brand with the release of the Togo sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy — inspired by the folding of a toothpaste tube. The iconic frameless Togo has been in continuous production for 53 years. In 1971, Pierre Paulin designed the Pumpkin sofa and chair for President Georges Pompidou's private apartments at the Élysée Palace, which Ligne Roset reissued in partnership in 2008. Other names that have designed for Ligne Roset: Didier Gomez, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, and Christian Werner. The 2,800-square-foot showroom offers an immersive look at the maison's complete collections, from iconic furniture like the Togo, Ploum, and Prado sofas to lighting, rugs, accessories, and objects.
