InsideThe Jewel Box INSIDE VIEW ROUND TOP SPONSORED PARTNER Legacy Saint: K at St. Martin, founder of Legacy Saint, has been buying, selling, and designing fine jewelry for more than 35 years. Her jewel box of a mobile showroom, filled with one-of-a-kind vintage and estate finds, is open during the shows at The Halles. "I've loved jewelry for as long as I can remem- ber," says St. Martin. "As a child, I loved playing in my mother's jewelry box. As a teenager, I started buying pieces of my own, both old and new." St. Martin's early love of jewelry eventually led to a ca- reer in the wholesale jewelry trade. During her years in wholesale, she developed a pas- sion for vintage and estate jewelry. Now an expert collector, St. Martin's pieces can be purchased online, by appointment in her private Minneapolis studio, and from her refurbished trailer at The Halles in Round Top. "I love pieces that have lived a life before they reach me," she says. "There's something special about finding a piece with its own history and helping it begin a new chapter with some- one who will cherish it for years to come." St. Martin has established a trusted bank of sources throughout the U.S. and abroad over more than three decades in the industry. Jewelry is carefully selected from auctions, other dealers, and private sellers. The Legacy Saint team is forever on the hunt for rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets with exceptional craftsmanship, interesting provenance, and timeless design, which spans from the Victorian era to modern day, with an emphasis on the '70s through the '90s. "My goal is always to find jewelry you won't see in every other jewelry store." she says. Legacy Saint also creates custom pieces and of- fers redesign services. Clients often bring St. Martin inherited jewelry that doesn't fit their style, pieces that are sitting unworn or simply no longer feel right. "One of my favorite parts of the business is helping someone preserve the sentimental value of an origi- nal piece while creating something that reflects their personality — something they'll want to wear every day," St. Martin says. Visitors are encouraged to bring the jewelry or photos of it to discuss ideas, possi- bilities, and the redesign process. Most custom and redesigned pieces are created in-house at Legacy Saint's studio by a team experienced in jewelry making. This fall, Legacy Saint brings a mix of vintage fine jewelry, estate gold pieces, distinctive gemstone jewelry, and custom designs specially created for Round Top. Guests to the Legacy Saint trailer can also view St. Martin's custom-made Mary Tyler Moore collection, inspired by the actress and Minneapolis native along with several origi- nal pieces acquired from Moore's estate for guests to view. Come play in Legacy Saint's jewelry box October 17 through 31 at The Halles. 1465 N. St. Hwy 237, Round Top, legacysaintjewelry.com, @legacysaintjewelry. Kat St. Martin 54
