PHOTOGRAPHY PRISCILLA DICKSON, WILSON PARISH. I t's quite a love story: Edith Sternlicht Mincberg and her late husband, Josef Mincberg, met at a displaced persons camp, fell in love and, five months into their marriage in 1949, moved to Houston to recreate their lives. Roots firmly planted, they became part of the founding group of the Holocaust Museum Houston. At HMH's annual luncheon, the couple was honored with the Guardian of the Human Spirit award. Also honored were the inimitable Sue and Lester Smith, who were presented the new Siegi Izakson Visionary Award for their contributions to the museum and community. Nearly 1,100 supporters enjoyed a dynamic, free-ranging conversation with lawyer/ pundit Alan Dershowitz at the Westin Galleria. Influencers: chairs Lainie Gordon, the honorees' son David Mincberg, Araceli and Rigo Flores; honorary chairs Michael S. Goldberg and Glen A.
