A rchitect Joel Barkley of Ike Kligerman Barkley Architects is based in New York City; the firm is widely recognized for residential design and has been honored with the prestigious Julia Morgan and Stanford White Awards from the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture and is continuously recognized on the Architectural Digest AD 100 list. The firm's book, The New Shingled House (Monacelli Press), was published in October 2015. Barkley is an alumnus of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Diller + Scofidio, prior to the founding of Ike Kligerman Barkley Architects 25 years ago. D esigners Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller are the principals of the firm Carrier and Company, based in New York. The firm is a member of the Elle Decor A-List and Architectural Digest's AD New Top 100. Carrier and Miller designed Anna Wintour's home, as well as homes for Jason Wu and Annie Leibovitz. Their work has been published in national and international publications, and their first book, Carrier and Company: Positively Chic Interiors (Vendome), hit bookstores in September. ESTEEMED JUDGES OUR PANEL OF Designer Brian McCarthy was a partner at renowned design firm Parish-Hadley before establishing his firm in 1992. He is on the Architectural Digest AD 100 list and Elle Decor's A-List, and his work has been featured in many design publications. His first design book is titled Luminous Interiors: The Houses of Brian McCarthy (Stewart, Tabori and Chang), and his newest book, co-authored with Bunny Williams, is Parish-Hadley Tree of Life: An Intimate History of the Legendary Design Firm (Abrams). He left his first career on Wall Street to pursue his passion in art and design and studied and trained at Sotheby's in London and New York before opening his New York design firm in 1994. Whealon has been named to the Elle Decor A-List, and his work has been published in numerous national design publications. Design projects include Elton John's apartment, as well as homes for Cher, Tamara Mellon, Edward Norton and Eva Mendes; the Colony Palms Hotel; and executive offices at Warner Brothers and Paramount. His best-selling book Martyn Lawrence Bullard: Live, Love and Decorate (Rizzoli) will be followed by a new book, Martyn Lawrence Bullard: Design and Decoration (Rizzoli), in April 2016. Bullard also co-starred on the hit Bravo TV show Million Dollar Decorators. Martyn Lawrence Bullard L os Angeles designer Mary McDonald's work has appeared in numerous design publications. Her projects have included refurbishing Buster Keaton's legendary villa and renovating the Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Bel Air. Her design book, Mary McDonald Interiors: The Allure of Style (Rizzoli) is a best seller, and she was a star on Bravo TV's Million Dollar Decorators and Property Envy. Mary McDonald NYC-based architect and designer Robert Couturier is widely known for designing billionaire Sir James Goldsmith's 20,000-acre, 60,000-square-foot hilltop palace on Mexico's Pacific coast — the single greatest private commission of modern times. He has been published in every major design magazine, appears on the Architectural Digest AD 100 list and has written several design books, the newest titled Robert Couturier: Designing Paradises (Rizzoli).
