MARCH | PAGE 22 | 2016 BY JANE ROZELLE. PHOTOGRAPHY HOLT HAYNSWORTH. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED O scar Wilde famously said, "Pleasure without Champagne is purely artificial." Like any seasoned party host, ReuNight Gala chairs Nancy Rogers and Robert Weatherly know the wisdom of those words, so they warmed up their frosty fund-raising dinner for The Family Place with an endless supply of Dom. The dynamic duo, along with honorary chairs Claire and Dwight Emanuelson, rallied their closest friends and Family Place patrons for one of the best-attended dinner parties on record. Nathan Johnson and his imaginative team at GRO Designs transformed John Tesar's restaurant Oak into an aristocratic garden with gold- painted Manzanita trees, a canopy of Dendrobium orchids and hedges of busheled hydrangea. Before main courses were set, the Grammy Award–winning band Los Lonely Boys put on a show, setting the stage for later that night, when DJ Lucy Wrubel spun tunes in the after-party tent adjacent to the restaurant. Seen: The Family Place CEO Paige Flink; designer Prabal Gurung, in town to accept an award from Fashion Group International of Dallas, on the arm of Nasiba Hartland-Mackie; and social swells Sue and Jimmy Gragg, Jim Lee, Jan Miller, Jeff Rich, Shelby Wagner, Shelle and Michael Sills, Georgina Hartland, Kal Grant, Tracie Klein, Lori Jones, Muffin and John Lemak, Sonia Black, Kim Garrett, Annika Cail, Lisa and Marvin Singleton, Jeff Byron, Meghan Looney, Diane Foshee, and Maureen and Tom Bridwell. It was Kearney's first visit to Dallas, so TBT and the Stanley Korshak teams welcomed him warmly with a Tex-Mex feast the evening before. Korshak owner Crawford Brock acknowledged chairs Nina Sachse and Paige Westhoff and spotlighted the impact that funds raised at the luncheon have on TBT's dancers. Brock also shared that his mother was a member of the high-kicking Rockettes, which perhaps explains his longtime support of our city's ballet company. As for the big show, TBT dancers traded tutus and Tchaikovsky for Maiyet's colorful spring collection and a mix of pop music. In the audience: TBT interim managing director, Terri Sexton; Korshak's top brass Helen Brock Callan, Laura Brock Chandler, Rose Clark, Leigh Brock Friend, Bret McKinney, and Elaine Raffel. A TALE OF TUTU CITIES TEXAS BALLET THEATER'S PAS DE DEUX FASHION FRENZY IN FORT WORTH Later in the week, stylist and designer Rachel Zoe teamed with Texas Ballet Theater and Stanley Korshak for the Caren Koslow Fashion Show and Luncheon at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. (As TBT performs in both cities, it's only appropriate that they host two fund-raisers.) Chairs Nicole Firestone and Melissa Mehall welcomed friends and ballet patrons eager to meet Zoe; a lucky few already had at a private cocktail reception hosted the night before by Paige Slates, Lisa Moore and Jennifer Roberts. TBT dancers rocked the stage, wearing frocks from Zoe's latest collection. How to describe this fierce runway spectacle? We can't even! Luncheon hosts: Anne Bass, Allison Beadles, Ashli Blumenfeld, Mitzi Davis, Cami Goff, Kathryn King, Marsha Kleinheinz, Nikki Mildren, Maribeth Miller, Shannon Nolan, Laura Pettit, Dana Porter, Rienke Radler, Cynthia Siegel, Oleta Thompson, Renée Walsh, and Susan Youn.
