LISA COLLINS SHADDOCK REPORTS. Photography Bret Redman, Carter Rose A whirlwind week of book signings, panel discussions, product launches, and cocktails with top-shelf decorators amounted to one very chic celebration of all things design in Dallas. Decorators, architects, and those who love them hopped from showroom to showroom in Dallas Design District, The International, and beyond — all in celebration of the first Texas Design Week Dallas. When fueled by a passion for design and plenty of champagne, all the best parties last an entire week. The PaperCity Design Awards with Dunhill Partners at Dallas Design District kicked off the week, followed by architect Bobby McAlpine's standing-room-only poetic talk and book signing at David Sutherland Showroom. Festivities continued on a cerebral note with an interior-design master class and panel discussion, with Traditional Home magazine as sponsor, Artistic Tile serving as classroom, Alexa Hampton, and Vicente Wolf as panelists, and Carl Dellatore, author of Interior Design Master Class: 100 Lessons from America's Finest Designers on the Art of Decoration (Rizzoli), as the professor. The school of chic was officially in session. In attendance: Showroom manager Amira Duck, corporate retail president Lauren Cherkas, and Traditional Home's Krissa Rossbund, and Texas Design Week's expert orchestrator, Alton LaDay. Class dismissed, and it was time to celebrate the unveiling of Ambella Home's new Dallas Design District showroom, also hosted by Traditional Home magazine. More than 200 design devotees joined Ambella CEO George Moussa and Trad Home's Krissa Rossbund for the occasion. In the crowd were Moussa's brother Mark Moussa, founder of Arteriors, as well as Jennifer McConnel, Ambella creative director; showroom managers Rand McLeory and Deanna Barnard; and Tracy Szafarz and Suzanne Cooper from Traditional Home.
