16 letter editor HUNT SLONEM I love this spiraling journey into winter and the holidays. Mid-month, 40 of us at PaperCity will have put to bed the largest, most time-consum- ing and anxiety-inducing issues of the year. In the months September through December, our editors will have attended and covered more than 200 parties in Houston and Dallas. Our team traveled to L.A. twice and NYC to shoot fashion. The Dallas PaperCity Design Awards were held at The Joule in Dallas, with almost 300 entries. And Texas Design Week Dallas unfurled with six keynotes and 16 personal appearances by designers from NYC, Atlanta, and L.A. PaperCity Dallas also celebrated the magazine's 20th year in that city with a very chic dinner hosted by Neiman Marcus Downtown and a party for 300 at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Our editors inter- viewed Beto O'Rourke, Ina Garten, Carolyne Roehm, Hutton Wilkinson, Rodarte sisters, Laura Kim, and Fernando Garcia of Oscar de la Renta; and artists Martyn Thompson, Laurie Simmons, Hunt Slonem, Jwan Yosef, Tyler Shields, Elliott Erwitt, Kana Harada, and Vincent Valdez. The 13-page Fall Social Calendar for Houston was produced, and the Ten Best Dressed in Dallas were photographed. And the almighty December gift guide was shot, with 86 extraordinary objects chosen, retrieved, photographed, and returned. Don't call us, we'll call you.
