T he Asia Society Texas Center capped the third year of its Women's Leadership Series with a panel, Women in Fashion: Houston design- ers Chloe Dao and Becky Hollands joined Dallas-based Khanh Nguyen, creative director of Nha Khanh, and Naina Shah, whose company is head- quartered in Mumbai, where it collaborates on Indian- inspired embroidery with Gucci, Alexander McQueen, and Alexander Wang. After the panel, festivities moved just across the street to the rooftop of The Southmore high-rise, with poolside bites from Cordúa Catering and tunes by DJ Yogi-G. Five themed vignettes let bidders see their potential purchases in smartly designed settings — an immersive exhibition/auction that united art, interior design, and architecture. The evening was chaired by patron Surpik Angelini, artist Sharon Engelstein, and archi- tect Natalye Appel. Artfully inclined: Vignette curators including Onézieme Mouton, DiverseWorks director Xandra Eden, Kathrin Brunner, and Janice Freeman and Geoff Winningham; Project Row Houses' Eureka Gilkey and Ryan N. Dennis; Galveston Arts Center's Dennis Nance; guests Gin Braverman, Randy Twaddle, Rebekah Johnson, Natasha Bowdoin, Arturo Palacios, Jason Fuller, Jenni and Wynne Walker, and Rob Greenstein; and big buyer Palmer Schooley, who nabbed works by Ken Mazzu, David Lackey, John Calaway, and Geoff Winningham.
