PHOTOGRAPHY CHRIS BROWN. L egendary Bellaire Boulevard bijoux destination I W Marks Jewelers made merry with a fête that encouraged guests to discover the spirit of the season (and reach into their pocketbooks) for a noble cause. A lively crowd raised thousands for Boys & Girls Country, a home for children in crisis in the greater Houston area. Munificent sponsors choreographed a raffle starring a Rolex Datejust 36mm steel-and-gold watch, plus a posh weekend Porsche rental, courtesy of Porsche of West Houston. The magnanimous patronage of the raffle ensured that 100 percent of the proceeds benefitted the cause. Among the celebrants: CEO Daniel Marks with wife Susan, president Brad Marks with fiancée Joanna Hartland, Kim Padgett, Diane Caplan, Jill Li, Logan Zhou, Edie and Robert Saville, Carmen and Alex Lechin, Christy and David Malloy, Camille and David Stern, Trang Lam, David Nguyen, Mark Brown, Marji Strohmer, Kristina Hornberger, Alex Ochoa, and Cricket DeWalch. PHOTOGRAPHY ANTHONY RATHBUN. H onorary chair former First Lady Barbara Bush and her granddaughter, featured speaker Lauren Bush Lauren, lent rock-star power to The Women's Fund mission of educating Houston-area women and girls on health and well-being at the Rockin' Resiliency Luncheon at the always groovy Hotel ZaZa. The dynamic duo drew in more than 335 notables for the seated luncheon chaired by Paulina McGrath and Amy Pierce, a series of educational seminars chaired by Gina Carroll and a spectacular shopping extravaganza chaired by Meredith Riddle and PaperCity's own Kate Stukenberg, which began the afternoon in splendid style. Gals of all ages lunched, got enlightened and enthusiastically perused local vendors David Peck, Tres Chic, Myth & Symbol, Pomp & Circumstance, DePetra Jewels and Lauren's own collection of Feed bags and accessories. In the well-connected crowd: Lauren's mom Sharon Bush, father Neil Bush and wife Maria, and brother Pierce Bush; Chelsea Cunningham and mom Susie Cunningham; Philamena Baird; Stephanie Madan; Women's Fund exec director Katherine Stackel; Shannon Buggs; Meredith Burrow; Abbe Bennett; Anna McGrath; Katherine Cabaniss; Anne Clutterbuck; and newlywed Miya Shay. All told, the day resulted in a rockin' bottom line of $154,000 for the cause.
