Louis Vuitton's The sublime setting Stunning Galleria Triumph, Plus a Surprise Art Announcement CATHERINE D. ANSPON PENS NOTES. PHOTOGRAPHY DAVE ROSSMAN. Talk of the Town I Louis Adler Valerie ChapoulaudFloquet Gary Tinterow Gail Adler t was a fête galante indeed when Louis Vuitton toasted its gleaming, newly expanded Galleria temple of luxury goods. For the occasion, an intimate seated dinner was in order, because what's more tempting than dining on fare from A Fare Extraordinaire at tables filled with peony blooms amid a sea of Vuitton, especially creations from the retailer's recent captivating collaboration with artist Yayoi Kusama. Presiding over this ultimate dinner party, Louis Vuitton North America president and CEO Valerie Chapoulaud-Floquet joined Houston store director Andy Fullen and fellow LV execs Kim Harrington and David Goubert. But there was more: also on the inspired menu was a special pre-dinner announcement by Miz Chapoulaud-Floquet revealing a partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston that includes bringing celebrated luminaries from the art world to the MFAH to dish with director Gary Tinterow as part of LV's acclaimed global Art Talks. (Details, and the tantalizing speaker list, coming in our March art issue). Loving Louis: Lynn Wyatt, the MFAH's Amy Purvis, Sara Dodd-Spickelmier, Greg Fourticq Jr., Becca Cason Thrash, PaperCity fashion editor Kate Stukenberg, Phoebe Tudor, Diane Lokey Farb, Gail and Louis Adler, Karen and Mike Mayell, Sheridan and John Eddie Williams, Divya and Chris Brown, Henry Richardson, Haydeh Davoudi, Christopher Gardner, Sima Ladjevardian, Rania Daniel, Monsour Taghdisi, Jessica Aguirre with Roberto Rincon, and Tracy and John Serpe. ANSPON DO SOME GEM GAZING. PHOTOGRAPHY MEGAN PRUITT WINDER. A nyone who has ever been to a Zadok Jewelers holiday party knows that it's not a mere white-wine, cheese and lookat-cocktail-rings fête, but an astutely choreographed, cleverly themed bijoux blast with a serious charity component. The 36th annual installment of the tradition looked South — to Rio, to be precise — with all manner of Carnival connotations. King and queen of the krewe, Helene and Dror Zadok, joined by sons Jonathan, Segev with wife Amy, and Gilad with wife Lisa, welcomed several hundred revelers, who clinked historic Portón Pisco Sours, savored Latin fusion bites from The Stone Kitchen and partook of the proverbially popular gemstone cake sale and raffle. (The latter benefitted the good work of Nora's Home, which offers affordable lodging to transplant patients and families treated at the Texas Medical Center). The Brazilian-inspired soirée offered plenty of dazzling, covetable sights, as more than a dozen jewelry houses showcased their treasures, including a few choice designer PAs: A & Furst with designer Carlo Antonini, Breitling, Goshwara, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Mikimoto, Nanis with designer Laura Bicego, Rina Limor herself, Roberto Coin, Sutra, Topall and Yvel. Social gems: Lois and Lary Kupor, Beverly Montgomery, Elsie Wilmoth, Beth Wolff, Kim Trimble, Trish Millard, Jay Stewart, Camila and Adam Blumberg, Curtis Emerson, Linda and Jerry Strickland, Richard Leibman, Kate Stouffer, Caroline Brown, Raquel and Glenn Lewis, Mary Sonnier, Forough Farizani, and Pete Berkowitz.
