Meyerson Symphony Center for A Celebration of Reading, an elegant reminder of the importance of family literacy. The former First Lady charmed the crowd with stories and visuals demonstrating her husband's love of whimsical socks before showing off a pair of her own. Co-chairs Amanda and George P. Bush expressed gratitude to the five authors whose readings transfixed the audience: Sally Bedell Smith, Robert Zorn, Kathryn McGarr, Nicolle Wallace, and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. Kudos to chairmen Ann and Trey Fielder and Paige and John Slates for an unforgettable night featuring DJ duo Jennifer Miller and Paul Paredes. The best answers to the evening's party question "What's your favorite power tool?" were varied: "People. You can accomplish anything with people," noted Aisha Johnson.
