26 MOVED TO ACTION BY LISA COLLINS SHADDOCK. PHOTOGRAPHY TAMYTHA CAMERON. O ne truly transcendent way to galvanize some- one into action is through art. Few things have such power to touch the soul and compel one to think, feel, change, or act. At the annual Art for Advocacy event benefitting Dallas Children's Advocacy Center — aptly themed "Galvanize" — the desired action was to bid. Tonya and Todd Ramsey co-chaired the fund-raiser that drew an art crowd to a West Dallas warehouse, where cocktail hour in a gallery-style setting allowed ample time to peruse more than 80 works of art donated for the silent auction by artists including Carly Allen-Martin, Gian Garofalo, Lucrecia Waggoner, and Steve Wrubel. The heated live auction saw bidding wars for the eight works on the block. Later, the after-party, with music by DJ Sober, was the perfect chance to let off steam.
