But the iconic spot has sat empty and unused since 2015. It's fi nally getting new life in the form of Bowlski's, a bowling alley, bar, restaurant, and entertainment center from Craig and Jennifer Spivey. This may not seem like the perfect tenant for a historic theater, but the couple lives in Lakewood and is committed to keeping the Art Deco touches. They're even turning the old projection room into a VIP bar, letting visitors look through the original projector squares. "We're bringing the building back to life," Jennifer tells PaperCity. This time, it's a 13,000-square-foot art playland spread across two stories at the Crescent Court hotel complex. Bivins Gallery owners Karen and Michael Bivins are the masterminds behind the Instagram smash. "This is somewhere that not only established artists, but emerging artists can show their work," Michael Bivins says. Don't miss The 1969 Room. It's extra groovy. Few athletes anywhere are as beloved as Nowitzki is in Dallas. Now there are plans to a name a street after him, with another celebration expected when the German icon completes his American citizenship. But Nowitzki is mostly looking forward to "eating everything" and hanging out with his wife Jessica and their children — Malaika, 5; Max, 4; and Morris, 2. You'll see Nowitzki at more galas than games in the near future. Read more at papercitymag.com/dirk-nowitzki. NEWSLETTER SIGN-UP D on't be the last to get the new PC Daily.
