26 FROM PARIS WORLD ONE OF THE MOST FASHIONABLE AND STAR-STUDDED NIGHTS OUR CITY HAS EVER SEEN, DIOR MAKES AN ENTRÉE OF GRAND PROPORTIONS. By Billy Fong. Photography John Cain Photography, Tamytha Cameron Smith. T he Dallas Museum of Art's "Dior: From Paris to the World" exhibition was showcased to great fanfare with a VIP event (perhaps it stood for Very Important Parisian, in this case) that could be called "From Paris to Dallas." Guests entered through a Bryant Park-worthy tent to find local friends, as well as an out-of-town contingency of fashionable types who were guests of the renowned fash- ion house. Dior-o-philes — including Vogue European editor at large Hamish Bowles, Kate Bosworth, Zoey Deutch, Lea Thompson, Kat Graham, and Michael Polish — traveled to Dallas to celebrate the monumental and lavishly staged exhibition that includes more than 100 haute couture gowns and dresses, as well as accessories, photographs, original sketches, and runway videos tracing the iconic history of Christian Dior's legacy. Organized by the Denver Art Museum and curated by Florence Müller, DAM's curator of textile art and fashion, the exhibition is locally presented by Sarah Schleuning, senior curator of decorative arts and design at the DMA. The blockbuster show profiles both Dior himself and sub- sequent artistic directors: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and present director Maria Grazia Chiuri. All in attendance were over the moon to see Chiuri, who flew in for the occasion. A swarm of devotees followed the designer through the exhibit, offering their congratulations on her glorious col- lections for Dior, of which many garments were on display. to the The runway-ready tablescape Melinda Knight, Lindsey Schuyler, Tina Craig Melinda & Mark Knowles Emily & Steve Summers, Deedie Rose Sunghee Thomson, Pia Kim Nilly Foster Kat Graham Agustin Arteaga, Maria Grazia Chiuri Geoffroy Van Raemdonck Michael Polish, Kate Bosworth
