O ctober 7 through 11 — a week-long celebration of design with panel discussions, salon talks, book signings, and cocktails with some of the most recognized names in the design business. Confirmed appearances include Jeffrey Bilhuber at Wells Abbott Showroom, Architectural Digest editor in chief Amy Astley at Jan Showers Showroom, Martyn Lawrence Bullard at The Rug Company, Thomas Pheasant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Tom Sheerer and Lisa Fine at James Showroom, Timothy Corrigan at David Sutherland Showroom; the erudite David Kleinberg in a discourse; and a panel of design experts including Cathy Kincaid, moderator and book agent Chesie Breen, and additional panel members, discussing how to get a book publishing deal, at Made Goods Showroom. Dapper Dean Rhys-Morgan will be at TXDW with an exhibition and sale of original and signed- and-numbered giclée prints of Jeremiah Goodman illustrations and will be signing his lavish Jeremiah Goodman book. Beverly Hills chef, event designer, and all-around bon vivant Alex Hitz will sign his new book, The Art of the Host: Recipes and Rules For Flawless Entertaining. Carl Dellatore leads a panel of the next generation of designers, with Lance Scott of David Kleinberg Design Associates, Caleb Anderson of Drake/Anderson, and Oliver Furth (L.A.). Can you stand it! The entry site is open for the 2019 PaperCity Design Awards, with Dallas Design District and Dunhill Partners, which recognizes outstanding interior design; interior architecture; retail, restaurant, and gallery design; landscape design; historical preservation; and furniture, product, and textile design, along with other categories.
