S pring always proves the perfect time for a design refresh, whether you're updating the interiors of your Highland Park manse or prepping your get- away home for summers in the Hamptons. In the spirit of inspiration, PaperCity took part in two design-minded book signings, both featuring endless pages of visual cues for creative projects ahead. First, we joined design maestro George Cameron Nash at his Dallas Design District showroom, where interior and product designer Kerry Joyce signed his book, Kerry Joyce: The Intangible (Pointed Leaf Press), and showed his latest collection of textiles. A few weeks later, New York writer, editor, and society columnist William Norwich came to Neiman Marcus Downtown to launch his first big project for Phaidon Press (where he is the editor of fashion and design), Interiors: The Greatest Rooms of the Century — a sumptuous 448-page book spotlighting the best designers and arbiters of taste from the last 100 years. I had the pleasure of sitting with Billy and friend Alexa Hampton, interior designer and daughter of late design master Mark Hampton, as moderator of their talk. Our lively conversation ranged from the pair's style influences (for Norwich, it's his former editor, Anna Wintour, who taught him how to meticulously edit) to Hampton's memories of growing up surrounded by sartorial greatness.
