letter publisher 26 MISAEL RODRIGUEZ T here's something magical about the city of Fort Worth that has always made it feel like home to me. As a graduate of Texas Christian University, I spent the best four years of my life in this charming town. I have fond memories of football games at the Amon Carter, Friday night margaritas and nachos at Joe T's, and Sunday brunches at Colonial. I've met my lifelong best friends here and, through the Neeley School of Business, learned the importance of hard work and dedication. Those qualities have certainly come in handy in the nine months leading up to the launch of our debut issue of PaperCity Fort Worth. Bringing PaperCity to Fort Worth has been a goal of mine since I began my role with the magazine nearly five years ago. With each issue, we hope to capture Fort Worth charm, as translated through the discerning PaperCity lens. To start, we will publish two beautiful issues a year: Following this Fall/Winter issue, our Spring/Summer edition will hit stands and mailboxes in March 2020. In this issue, look for everything from a fashion portfolio inspired by the luminescence of Caravaggio to a deep dive into Renoir, as the blockbuster exhibition "Renoir: The Body, The Senses" opens in October at the Kimbell Museum of Art. Our goal is always to highlight the people, places, and happenings that make the city special. In working on this project, we have been thrilled to receive a warm welcome from so many new Fort Worth advertising partners, including Neiman Marcus at The Shops at Clearfork. Neiman Marcus, which held parties to launch our Houston debut 25 years ago and our Dallas premiere 21 years ago, will help us celebrate our entrée into Fort Worth with a chic welcome fête in September. We can think of no better place to usher in this new chapter in PaperCity history. We also look forward to partnering with many of the city's most important nonprofits throughout the year, from the Kimbell and the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art to Jewel Charity Ball to The Cliburn. Just as Fort Worth captured my heart when I landed here more than a decade ago, I hope our publication captures yours. Cheers to this special city — and to our magazine's first foray west.
