A s Holocaust Museum Houston board chair Benjamin Warren noted during the First Look Celebration of the museum's $34 million expansion: "This reopening of our museum is the culmination of the dreams … of those heroic survivors who came to our city and who started a life and built an incredible future and didn't just survive but thrived." Celebrants, more than 800 strong, joine d the festive evening that saw the museum's three fl oors fi lled with inspiration, music (Divisi Strings, Moodafaruka, and John Acevedo), and international food stations from Chef Smirnov Catering. Former HMH board chair and current board member Tali Blumrosen joined forces with HMH managing director Tamara Savage in orchestrating the evening that included a surprise for one of the city's most philanthropic families: HMH CEO Kelly Zúñiga announced that the Human Rights Gallery was being named after generous museum donors Lester and Sue Smith.
