42 A MERRY CLOSET CAPER SHELBY HODGE DIGS IN. PHOTOGRAPHY JENNY ANTILL CLIFTON. REFLECTIONS ON STYLE LUNCHEON SERVES UP TASTY SHOPPING. B arbra Streisand's "Second Hand Rose" might come to mind when contemplating The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary's annual Reflections on Style luncheon. But that would be oh-so wrong. The fashions culled from the closets of the city's best dressed bear the labels of big-name designers and come in pristine condition. Auxiliary volunteers spend the year tapping into the designer resources of our fabulous femmes for a fashion show and sale so popular that it typically sells out in 10 minutes. This year was no exception, with the overflow crowd filling the River Oaks Country Club ballroom and raising $650,000. Among the treasure trove of daywear, gowns, handbags, and shoes were designer labels including Valentino, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, and Prada.
