M y favorite big statementmaking book, Bals: Legendary Costume Balls of the Twentieth Century, is the story of a vanished way of life. Plushly slipcased for $175, through curatebooks@papercitymag.com. Holly Moore Trained as an architect, artist Alison Berger apprenticed with glassblower Dale Chihuly before launching her own lighting line. I'm stunned by her beautiful Crystal Sphere pendant. To the trade at George Cameron Nash showroom. Carol Isaak Barden T T he magical cast-bronze houses by artist Page Kempner are just 4 3/4 inches high; the simplicity and frailty draw you in. This one is titled Not Shown Centered Here. $3,500, at Moody Gallery. Greg Fourticq Jr. KEN NO NE VET I'm looking for heavy ornamentation for fall, such as this Lanvin embellished number, price upon request, at Tootsies. Holly Moore Larry Turk's emporium of erudition, 1/4 Price Books, is a marvel. Venture within, Victoria Beckham has me baring leg again. Right out of the gate, she nailed the sexy shift, a timeless silhouette that feels terribly au courant. Her collection is at Neiman Marcus and Tootsies. Laurann Claridge Victorian carved Whitby jet earrings, circa 1870, feel just goth enough. $2,250, at Past Era Antique Jewelry. Kate Stukenberg C onsidered to be the first "it" bag from the fashion house of Alexander McQueen since the skull-clasp clutches, the Heroine satchel is in black or oxblood leather, but it's this python version that has us saying, "Yesssssssssss, please." $6,395, at Neiman Marcus. Amy Adams Versace sent this chic metallic leather bag down the runway for fall, and I must have it. $2,495, at the Versace boutique. Ceron NO NE VET T and you'll be hard-pressed to not stumble — and I do mean stumble — upon literary jewel after jewel. Seth Vaughan KEN Luggala Days: The Story of a Guinness House by Robert O'Byrne (Cima Books, October 2012, $45). Luggala Lodge is an 18th-century Gothic Revival Irish bolt-hole owned by the Guinness family. The likes of Mick Jagger and David Mlinaric have thought it swell and chic, as have socialites and junkies, earls and poets. Escapist and wonderfully eccentric. Diane Dorrans Saeks I'm playing head games with the creative minds of Tony Moxham and Mauricio Painagua, who created Lil' Eddie, rendered with the huichol beading technique for their "POPular" collection. Lil' Eddie is $805 (including display box) at Peel Gallery. Michelle Aviña Rachel Zoe's new jewelry collection is bananas, especially this bracelet. $385, at Neiman Marcus. Kate Allen Stukenberg addicted to Heritage Auctions' weekly no reserve internet luxury accessories auctions — heavy on the handbags. I'm currently tracking this vintage Chanel metallicgold lambskin, leather and tortoise offering. Tap out ha.com. Catherine D. Anspon I'm on't miss "Public Dress" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston — an interesting examination of how manners of dress and uniform can define how a person or group is perceived. Take special note of women at the Houston Livestock Show. Need we say more. Greg Fourticq Jr. D Meet Blake, the new women's tuxedo shoe from Elaine Turner. $225, at the Elaine Turner boutique. Kate Stukenberg looks like a cactus, but it's designer Maurizio Galante's prickly pouf. Don't you love it! $720, at Kuhl-Linscomb. Jenny Antill KENNON EVETT The Tattoo ottoman Been a long day? Tell it to your Dammit Doll. $16, at À Bientôt, Contemporary Arts Museum. Kate Stukenberg Geoff Winningham's Lamé Pants, from the series "Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo," 1972
