24 H ouston, James has officially arrived. The brightest in the design community gathered to clink glasses with owners Meredith and Hunter Ellis and Lisa Womack, for the opening of the stunning James showroom on the third floor of Decorative Center Houston. Design friends turned out in droves, such as Catherine Olasky (she and Meredith Ellis worked for Bunny Williams in New York) and new friends such as Katie Davis, mingling with and meeting vendors who flew in from across the country, representing top-notch lines carried by James. Kathryn M. Ireland and her son, Otis Weis of Otis Textiles, were there, as were Mally Skok, Schuyler Samperton, Diane Elson of Elson & Company, Stacy Waggoner and David Estes of Studio Four NYC, Sarah Schwartz of Sarah + Ruby, and Alex Mason of Ferrick Mason. Designers have embraced James' trademark fresh take on artisanal textiles and wallpaper mixed with antiques, since its debut in Austin in 2015; a Dallas showroom soon followed.
