Harwood St.). "Immersive Van Gogh" gets kudos for its community commitment, partnering with The Stewpot, a 40- plus year old nonprofit meeting the needs of the homeless and at-risk in the Dallas' East Quarter. Now the artists of The Stewpot will headline in the gift shop at "Immersive Van Gogh," with all proceeds of their van Gogh-inspired creations going directly to the talented, self-taught creators. Meanwhile, at Globe Life Park (1090 Ballpark Way) in Arlington, "Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" provides another digital take on the painter, this time via 360-degree projections, 15,000 square feet of screens, and a dose of virtual reality (through November 28). Described as a voyage into the artist's mind, the elaborate setup employs technology to dazzling effect to propel its storytelling narrative. Those obsessed with van Gogh and the transformative era of the late-19th- century where his life played out will love the new volume In Search of van Gogh: Capturing the Life of the Artist Through Photographs and Paintings (HarperCollinsPublishers). Both art book and travelogue, it represents a collaboration that began in 1990 between photographers Danilo De Marco and Mario Dondero and art historian Gloria Fossi. Unique among van Gogh volumes, it cracks open every chapter in the artist's life as the photographers retrace his travels, often by taking their own arduous journey on foot.
