T he Round Top Family Library raised much needed funding with its successful Wrangler's Gala held at Windy Knoll, a local event venue anchored by a restored 19th- century barn. "The event was quite successful, raising over $100,000," says gala co-chair and Round Top Family Library board director Julie Wantland. Round Top is the smallest town in Texas (population 91) to boast a full-service library. Items were snatched up during a highly charged auction run by Heather Kaspar of Buck Up Auctions. Celebrations Events and Catering of La Grange provided the spectacular dinner and Lollitop Sweetshop served dessert. Nearly 250 guests attended, including Round Top Mayor Mark Massey and Kasey Massey, Windy Knoll Ranch owners Kalli O'Malley and Terry Giles, Amy and John Bone, Cinda and Armando Palacios, Joan and Jerry Herring, Laurie and John Lowery, Jean and Frank Raymond, and Craig Moreau. Camp For All, a nationally renowned resource for children and adults with challenging illnesses and special needs, experienced more than $2 million in losses during the pandemic. Not only will this year's Fall into Camp For All Gala help the nonprofit recover, but the $240,000 raised will enable campers to attend Camp For All in Burton at little or no cost. "It was wonderful to see our camp filled with our longtime Washington County and surrounding area supporters and welcome new faces," said Camp For All president and CEO Pat Sorrells. The most coveted auction item of the evening was an Italian cream cake baked by Precinct Four Commissioner Joy Fuchs. The cake was so popular it resold three times, raising more than $4,000.
