STEPHEN KARLISCH R ivers Spencer dedicated the guest room, dubbed Les Fleurs du Marécage (The Flowers of the Bayou), to New Orleans. Featuring monograms and magnolias, along with NOLA-based Leontine Linens and lighting designer Julie Neill, the bedroom suite was laid out like a gracious Southern home — one with a spa-like bath, of course. Window coverings The Shade Store. Rug from Stark. Biedermeier chests, antique writing desk, settee from Blue Print. Antique armchairs and fluted columns from Nick Brock Antiques. Chandelier and bedside lamps Jan Showers. KURT BIELAWSKI MORE DESIGN + BUILD DALLAS RIVERS SPENCER RIVERS SPENCER INTERIORS NEW ORLEANS A former sunken living space was transformed into a warm European kitchen and scullery by Kurt Bielawski, whose company, More Design + Build, also served as contractor for the 2023 show house. Terracotta hues, warm wood cabinetry, and a patinated custom mosaic floor by Artistic Tile provided an Old World feel while mixing beautifully with JennAir appliances and modern Kohler fixtures. "I made this kitchen for myself," he says. "I like to be able to read the paper, have coffee, drink some wine … I wanted to create a place you could just be." Roman shades and draperies The Shade Store. For additional resources, see pages 86 & 88. NICKOLAS SARGENT 82
