Fashion Notes By Steven Hempel I f you missed out on a trip to the slopes or just want to escape the flatlands of the Gulf Coast, Balenciaga has your back. In celebration of its first skiwear collection, the fashion house has released the Balenciaga Skiwear Mini Game online. Two avatars are dressed in animated renditions of the newly launched collection. Gameplay takes you to an infinite slope with three environments and three weather conditions, allowing you to test your skills against others in worldwide rankings while being rewarded with exclusive wallpapers and stickers. The contest, ending January 31, will rank competitors by designated zone, with winners awarded a Balenciaga Ski Lock from the new collection. Try your luck at balenciaga.com. A Marriage Made in … Paris Wanna get away? S ometimes the universe brings things together, and we say, "It was meant to be." Be it a simple pairing or a complex marriage of hopes, dreams, beverages … even people. In the case of the iconic Hôtel Plaza Athénée and famed Parisian fashion house Dior, perhaps it was preordained. The legendary hotel, 25 avenue Montaigne, home to true luxury and unobstructed views of the Tour Eiffel, has been a refuge for stars of past and present for more than 100 years. In 1946, Dior moved across the street to 30 Avenue Montaigne, and the two became interlinked. Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor, and Jackie Kennedy would stay at the hotel and walk a few steps down the street to shop at Dior. In 2008, Dior opened its first spa, fittingly located in the hotel. It was an extension of the brand's focus on holistic beauty and a perfect setting, rich in history and draped in luxury. This year, the brand has fully renovated the space, commingling house design codes with the original architecture of the hotel, working natural stone and materials to further transform the space into a haven for those in search of relaxation and healing. Taking cues from the hotel's historic archways, the space brings together warm, pale colors and natural materials to create a luxurious getaway from worldly troubles. Designed in partnership with Lucibel, the room's ceiling is capable of perfectly reproducing the light of the sun to offer a Cronos Light that allows guests to resynchronize their circadian and chronobiological rhythms amongst its many healing treatments. If you're looking for a perfect getaway in the New Year, do as those in the past have done: Stay at Plaza Athénée, make your way over to Dior, find a little adventure or trouble wandering Parisian streets, then return to the spa to work it all off. It's just a ticket away. By appointment only. dior.com. The renovated Dior Spa in Hotel Plaza Athénée, Paris 22
